What are temperature averages and general weather conditions?

Temperatures can be unpredictable as well and the time of year is important when hosting an outdoor event. Have backup plans for any outdoor event. Don't confuse the Caribbean with the Outer Banks by hosting an outdoor event in February or March with no backup plan. In off-season, consider one of the many wonderful reception sites that may not be available in-season for private events. Or host an outdoor-tented event, complete with climate control, which allows for protection, but freedom to expand outdoors, if possible. June, July, and August are very popular for outdoor events but with that popularity bring premium rates. Typically, fall is the most predictable season on the Outer Banks. October, November, and even early December are typically calm, reasonably warm, and can be great weather for outdoor events. However, a fall northeaster can come about with little notice and requires planning ahead and using backup plans if necessary. Once again, be realistic. Consider your options, plan for worse case scenario, and be prepared so that your event is not hampered by unrealistic expectations and controlled by the "uncontrollable" forces that may come about.
